E-Tabs are working in Indiana.

Electronic pull-tabs went live in Indiana on December 30, 2025. Within three months, 518 of 581 eligible American Legion, VFW, Moose, Eagles, and Elks organizations had installed them. Here is what they figured out, and how to bring it to your post or club.

Why operators move

Four reasons posts are switching from paper.

E-tabs do not replace your bar staff, your board, or your charitable mission. They replace the clipboard, the jar, and the cash drawer behind the counter.

01
The paper handling goes away.
No ticket inventory to count. No flares. No jar reconciliation at end of shift. No paper waste on the floor. End-of-night is a printed report, not a manual count.
  • No backroom storage of unsold tickets
  • Reduced cash and paper-handling exposure
  • Every session is logged with a timestamp
02
Players stay longer and spend more.
One machine runs a library of games at multiple stake levels. Touchscreen play is faster than peeling paper, top prizes can be larger than paper formats allow, and there are no lost or torn tickets to argue about.
  • Multiple games on the same machine
  • Animation and sound bring in younger members
  • Longer dwell time means more food and bar tabs
03
Better visibility into reporting.
Cloud-connected machines can support real-time reporting. Reporting features vary by machine and state.
  • Visibility into sales and service
  • Less manual end-of-shift reconciliation
  • Digital records instead of paper binders
04
Same footprint, more revenue.
A single machine replaces the counter dispenser, the flare board, the cash drawer, and the inventory of unsold tickets. Same wall, more dollars, no extra staff time.
  • Compact single-bay machine fits where paper inventory used to sit
  • Multi-machine banks fit a small alcove or end-of-bar
  • No new build-out required at most venues

It is not just gaming revenue. It is incremental bar revenue.

Indiana posts are seeing a different crowd than paper ever pulled in. Members who came out for the machine stay for the food and the bar tab. That can mean additional bar and food sales when members stay longer.

The younger-veteran draw is real too. VFW posts in Indiana have been blunt about it: e-tabs bring a generation through the door that paper pull-tabs were not reaching.
